What customers say?

“ Best brewed coffee in the Historic Center! The atmosphere is also really nice. On hot days, the indoor tables are air-conditioned. On milder days, I like to grab a brewed coffee and sit in the Matriz square, which is right next door. Take the opportunity to also buy some coffee beans or a delicious beer to take home! ”

“ If you are looking for high quality coffee (and craft beer as well) this is definitely the place to go! The dudes and dudettes are super friendly and more than happy to help. Gabriel even took his time to share some recommendations and recipes on how to brew a great coffee with my Aeropress. I can really recommend this place! ”

- Dominik -

“ The food and coffee are simply delicious. They roast their own coffee and have their own coffee shop, which makes all the difference. The coffee I ordered was freshly ground and brewed, and the flavor really stood out! Besides coffee, I believe they also brew some very different craft beers (see photos). My friends and I ordered some small cakes: a regular chocolate one, a vegan one, and a cheesecake. They were all perfect, although a little small, haha. Fun fact: we thought the café's name had something to do with the "Dude" from the movie "The Big Lebowski," but the server said no, it's because of an Aerosmith song. Overall, it's a pleasant place, and the server was super friendly. I will definitely return as soon as possible! ”

“ The place is really nice, the food we ate was very good, and the coffees themselves were too. But we were quite lost, as we ordered 3 cappuccinos and only 2 arrived. I had to go back after quite a while to ask for the missing one. I ordered 2 with whole milk and 1 with plant-based milk, as my friend is lactose intolerant. When the first one was delivered, it was announced as plant-based and given to her. Upon tasting it, she found it strange, thinking it was some different plant-based milk. Later we contacted them and they said the wrong one was delivered, and the person with the intolerance drank the whole milk while someone who didn't need it drank the plant-based milk. ”

“ Relaxed and super friendly atmosphere, I felt very comfortable; coffee and sweets of great variety and quality. Quiet outdoor area and super attentive service. Good for a stroll downtown, to the library and used bookstores, and ending the outing there with a coffee. Great place, I will return many more times!! ”

“ Nice place, good service, we went in the mid-afternoon and it wasn't very busy. We ordered a cappuccino, a brewed coffee and a small tart and the total was R$40. The tart is a bit expensive for its size, but it's very sweet so it's easily enough to share between two people. I thought it was a good option for a coffee and I would certainly go back. ”

“ In May 2025, combo: filtered coffee + cake of the day = R$ 20.00 I liked seeing the reactivation of the Brazilian-American Institute. There was already a presentation in the auditorium. And classrooms for teaching English and the Dude café & drink. ”

- Irajá Heckmann -

“ Good coffee, in the old building of the Brazilian-American Cultural Institute, or simply Cultural. Currently, it houses the Municipal Department of Education. The atmosphere isn't very quiet, as the tables are practically on the street, so the noise from the traffic in downtown Porto Alegre is a bit of a nuisance. But the coffee makes up for it. Worth the break! ”
